Tunku Azizah Aminah delivers historic opening lecture at University of Oxford on Pahang’s Malay-Islamic constitutional legacy.
KUANTAN: Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, made history by delivering an opening lecture for the first time at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom.
The Pahang Royal Family, through a post on its official Facebook page, announced that Her Royal Highness delivered a lecture titled “Pahang: The Forgotten Malay-Islamic Constitutional and Maritime Legacy”.
“Her Royal Highness spoke with clarity and depth, embodying the voice of a sovereign civilisation reclaiming the ‘Hukum Kanun Pahang’ as the oldest Malay-Islamic Constitution of a sovereign polity,” according to the post.
It also said that Her Royal Highness expounded on Pahang as a centre of civilisational strength, one of knowledge, law, and enlightenment – not as a relic of nostalgia, but as the living written soul of the Malay-Islamic world, representing an intellectual redefinition of constitutional history.
