Muhammad Danish fondly recalls monthly family dinners with his brother Muhammad Darwish, one of four killed in a Tangkak road crash.
TANGKAK: The brother of Muhammad Darwish Kamarul Hafiz, 19, one of the four people killed in last night’s four-vehicle crash along Jalan Muar-Segamat near Bandar Baru Sagil here, will always remember their monthly family dinners together.
Muhammad Danish Kamarul Hafiz, 22, said the last time the three siblings had dinner with their parents was at the end of last month when they had grilled fish in Melaka, which was Muhammad Darwish’s favourite.
He fondly recalled how his youngest brother, a part time barber, seemed happiest whenever the entire family got together to spend time with each other.

“As it was only he and I who stayed at home in Tangkak, and my parents in Segamat, those monthly family dinners became our family custom.
“I saw my brother last the morning before the crash, when I woke him up to go to class at the Tangkak Community College,” he said when met by Bernama at their residence in Bandar Baru Tangkak today.
Meanwhile, their father, Kamarul Hafiz Jaafar, 51, shared that he did not expect that his son waving to him in front of his college on the morning of the crash would be the last time he saw him.
“I was coming from Segamat to Tangkak and managed to call him when passing his college. He was waiting by the gate and waved to his mother and I. That night, I was really shocked to receive news that a crash had taken the life of my son, Muhammad Darwish,” he said sadly.
Muhammad Darwish’s friend and co-worker, Muhammad Alauddin Shah Zulkarnain, 20, and two others, Sky Chang Ji Shiang, 20, and Pang Chong Chong, 18, were also killed in yesterday’s crash.
