Iran warns US against ground attack after rejecting ceasefire plan

Iran’s parliament speaker accuses the US of pursuing war goals through a 15-point plan after military failure, vowing a decisive response to any ground operation.

ISTANBUL: Iran’s parliament speaker has accused the United States of pursuing a 15-point plan to achieve its war goals after failing to do so by military force.

Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, writing on Telegram, warned that any ground attack on Iran would face a decisive response from the prepared Iranian nation.

He claimed the US is openly calling for negotiations while secretly planning a ground attack, with different statements heard from enemy officials about talks.

Iran formally rejected the 15-point US ceasefire plan, stating any truce would only occur on Tehran’s terms and timeline.

State television reported that Iran outlined five conditions for ending the war, including a complete halt to aggression and assassinations.

This comes amid reports of US plans for a ground attack as thousands of American troops deploy to West Asia, pending a decision by President Donald Trump.

The US and Israel have maintained airstrikes on Iran since Feb 28, killing over 1,340 people including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets.

These retaliatory strikes have caused casualties, damaged infrastructure, and disrupted global markets and aviation.
