PSG’s Ousmane Dembele wins men’s FIFA Best award, while Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmati claims the women’s prize for a third consecutive year.
FRANCE and Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé was named the men’s FIFA Best player at a ceremony.
Barcelona midfielder Aitana Bonmatí collected the women’s prize for the third year in a row.
Dembélé, 28, was rewarded for a stellar season where he scored 35 goals in all competitions.
His efforts helped PSG win a domestic double and the club’s first UEFA Champions League title.
“Hard work pays off, it’s been a fantastic year for me, both individually and collectively,” Dembélé said.
PSG coach Luis Enrique was named best coach of a men’s team.
Bonmatí, 27, also won her third consecutive Ballon d’Or earlier in the autumn.
“I am grateful to have the honour,” the Spanish star said after thanking teammates and fans.
Her year included winning the Spanish league but losing in the Champions League and European Championship finals.
Bonmatí was player of the tournament at Euro 2025 despite recovering from viral meningitis early on.
She is currently injured after fracturing her leg ahead of Spain’s Nations League final win.
England manager Sarina Wiegman won best women’s coach after a third consecutive Euros title.
Italy’s Gianluigi Donnarumma won best men’s goalkeeper after his move to Manchester City.
Chelsea’s Hannah Hampton, a Euro 2025 winner, took the women’s goalkeeping award.
Santiago Montiel won the Puskás Award for best goal with an overhead kick from outside the box.
Lizbeth Ovalle’s scorpion kick in Mexico won the Marta Award for best women’s goal.
The winners were chosen by a vote of fans, media, captains, and coaches.
