Malaysian rider Hakim Danish earns professional Moto3 contract with MSI Racing Team for 2025 season, a rare opportunity without major financial backing.
MALAYSIAN rider Muhammad Hakim Danish Ramli has secured a full-season Moto3 contract with MSI Racing Team for next year’s World Motorcycle Championship.
The 18-year-old’s opportunity differs from typical Asian rider arrangements that require significant financial backing, according to SIC Racing team manager Zulfahmi Khairuddin.
“This time, MSi is offering Hakim Danish a genuine professional contract,” Zulfahmi told reporters.
“They will provide his salary and bonuses, and we only need to cover some minor costs.”
The offer materialised after Spanish rider Angel Piqueras was confirmed to move up to Moto2 next season.
Zulfahmi noted that many other riders were interested in the vacant spot, requiring a quick decision.
Hakim Danish will use the same bike that Piqueras raced this season, providing a significant advantage.
The Terengganu-born rider has been competing in the JuniorGP and Red Bull Rookies Cup.
He will race in all 22 rounds of the Moto3 world championship next year.
Zulfahmi described the opportunity as a dream come true for both himself and the young rider.
Hakim Danish is expected to team up with Japanese rider Ryusei Yamanaka in the MSi Racing Team lineup.
He finished this season’s Red Bull Rookies Cup in third overall with 171 points after the final round at Misano Circuit.
The Malaysian trailed overall champion Brian Uriarte of Spain by 65 points.
Indonesia’s Veda Pramata secured second place overall with 181 points. – Bernama
