Sunway Lagoon in Kuala Lumpur and Sunway Lost World Of Tambun in Ipoh will host countdown celebrations on December 31, 2025, offering visitors an exciting way to welcome 2026 with family and friends.
Santa’s Extended Tropical Holiday
In an unexpected festive twist, Santa Claus is extending his Malaysian vacation to join the New Year’s Eve festivities before returning to the North Pole. The jolly visitor has been enjoying a tropical getaway at both parks as part of Sunway Theme Parks’ ongoing “Santa On Holiday” Christmas campaign.
Guests attending the New Year’s Eve celebration can expect to see Santa alongside beloved park character Captain Quack and family, creating a unique blend of Christmas cheer and New Year excitement.
The midnight countdown will feature live performances, interactive activities for all ages, and a spectacular fireworks display that will illuminate the night sky as 2025 transitions into 2026.
A Festive Season That Extends Beyond Christmas
The New Year’s Eve celebration serves as the grand finale to Sunway Theme Parks’ extended holiday season, which began with their “Santa On Holiday” campaign and continues through January 11, 2026.
The campaign reimagines traditional winter holiday celebrations with a tropical Malaysian twist, showcasing Santa trading snow for sunshine while hosting festive activities and surprises across both locations.

The holiday festivities have been made possible through collaborations with several key partners. Himalaya Sports serves as the Official Partner, bringing energetic activities and on-ground engagement throughout the campaign period.
Supporting partners F&N and Li-Ning are also contributing to the festive atmosphere, helping maintain the celebratory spirit across both parks.
Additionally, Coca-Cola has partnered with Sunway Tiny Toys for a special Christmas redemption campaign running from December 15, 2025, through January 11, 2026. Visitors purchasing Sunway Tiny Toys merchandise receive complimentary Coca-Cola drinks, with additional perks available for those buying Coca-Cola-themed merchandise.
