UNIQLO and JW Anderson continue their collaborative effort for the fourth season with a new collection this Autumn/Winter 2019.

With art and nature as his muse, British fashion designer Jonathan Anderson drew inspiration from the coastal town of St Ives in Cornwall, England, blending traditional elements with the modern design sensibilities of his fledgeling label, JW Anderson.

“Like all the seasons I’ve done with Uniqlo, it’s always interesting to see the collection evolve through the meetings with the teams and see if really become this amalgamation of life wear and JW Anderson,” says the designer.

Anderson adds that he liked the idea of pops of colour to make the heritage British patterns and colours feel a bit more modern.

“Contrasting pops of colour and tartan are very present,” he says.

Classic British patterns and knits such as tartans and Nordic designs are reimagined to be liberating for a sophisticated but playful look without additional frills.

They are showcased on a range of outerwear, skirts, accessories and even inner garment.

Fringes are then adorned on various pieces to accentuate the playfulness that is synonymous to the JW Anderson design language.

This season, Anderson once again brought back its reversible pieces that have become a collaboration mainstay.

Men and women down jackets and coats are completed with vivid yellows and greens over an earthy base – classic tones on the outside with contrasting colour on the inside, allowing idiosyncratic styling variation in the typical seasonal wear.

Then, there’s the fusion of Uniqlo’s functionality and JW Anderson’s contemporary design.

HeatTech Warm Easy Pants are lined with HeatTech fleece, with exceedingly practical features including a webbing belt that can be easily adjusted with one hand, and side pockets accented with colourful bungee cords.

Women’s Airism leggings and half-zip long-sleeve T-shirt provide the functionality to prevent stuffiness while ensuring comfort to brace the cold during winter.

It’s a collection inspired by style that has endured for generations, built to last for generations to come. It’s British heritage, remade for all as Uniqlo LifeWear.

The all-new Uniqlo x JW Anderson Autumn/Winter 2019 collection will be releasing this Friday at stores in Fahrenheit 88 and Mid Valley Megamall, and will also be available online.
