IN the pursuit of perfection, Sanctvs was born. Spearheaded by founder and visual artist Kevin Loo, the homegrown footwear label made its first appearance into the booming Malaysian fashion scene with the launch of its debut collection, Necessity Vol. 1.

More than just a name, perhaps Sanctvs is better described as a constant journey of finding beauty in the simplicity of life; be that a well-cultivated bonsai tree, or in this case, the sophistication of a pair of shoes.

Loo shares: “I seek to redefine humanity’s most basic longing in life, which is an eternal sense of beauty. With the endeavour of balancing between comfortable everyday wear and cutting-edge fashion statement, Sanctvs is synonymous with timeless classics and promising quality.

“My wardrobe staples are very minimal and simple, hence why the creation of Necessity Vol. 1 from scratch was necessary for me, as I needed to find a pair of shoes that fit my current style and aesthetic.

“I wanted to create a footwear that lends perfection to not just me, but any style icons out there. So I feel that these two monochrome colourway collections (triple white, and black), which are ideal for day-to-day wear, are the perfect shoes to start with.”

There is a hypnotic power combining sensorial words into the brand ethos that can evoke a wildly profound interest in audiences.

More often than not, this reverence emerges with new or niche brands crafted with care, attention and invigorating design than other bigger authoritative voices.

Necessity Vol.1 like its name suggests, is an essential, the fundamental of rudiments that ooze style without compromising on comfort, blending versatility under a single minimalistic, timeless silhouette.

The inception of Sanctvs into the cutting-edge contemporary culture of KL boasts a unique outlook for fashion. It reveals endless possibilities and exciting opportunities but also posed questions of brand sustainability in the long run.
