AN amusement park in Chongqing, China has come under fire following an act of animal cruelty by its staff.

In a viral video, staffs of the park were seen carrying a pig up the staircase to one of the rides offered.

They then tied it to an elastic cord and dropped it from a height of 68 metres.

The 75kg pig was heard squealing as it was dropped.

Officers at the park received multiple calls from an irate public, condemning their actions.

The park has apologised for its actions after it was contacted by the district’s tourism office.
