M’sian Pokémon Card collection sells for RM1.87mil

A Malaysian Pokémon card collector has stunned the internet after selling his prized collection for a jaw-dropping RM1.87 million — turning years of dedication into one of the biggest local sales in the trading card scene.

The collector, who had initially announced he was looking for a buyer, offered two options: RM1.8 million in cash, or a Porsche Carrera S plus RM1 million cash.

While many doubted anyone would bite, he later confirmed the deal was real.

“My Pokémon card collection officially SOLD for RM1,870,000!

“From a small room in Shah Alam to making history in the Pokémon World.

“This is more than a sale, this is a story of passion, grind and legacy. From passion to legacy, this marks one of the biggest moments in my journey,” he expressed.

The collection included rare bundles and limited-edition cards highly valued among global enthusiasts.

“Every card, every box, every sleepless night is all worth it.

“This isn’t the end,it’s just the beginning of something even greater.

“THANK YOUUU FOR EVERYTHING!” he wrote on Facebook.

He also revealed that the buyer was a fellow Malaysian, not an international collector as many had speculated.

According to him, he spent around RM1.77 million building the collection over the years.

Following his announcement, netizens flooded his page with congratulations — and some good-natured teasing.

One user called Jordan Vega commented: “We now crown you King Scalper. May your throne be built on sold-out preorders.”

“Who says you cannot sell? Here it goes!” Zhen Wei wrote.

“Sure lots will say “scalping” but when you look through the pictures lots of items you had to get before everything blew up. Congrats on the sale. I hope one day my collection is like this,” Matt Wacked Gaming opined.
