Over 150 LZS vendors sign Corruption-Free Pledge

SHAH ALAM: Representatives of more than 150 vendor companies registered with the Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) today showed their commitment to zero tolerance for corruption by signing the Corruption-Free Pledge (IBR).

LZS chief corporate officer and special projects, Ariffa Ariffin (pix), said that it is one of LZS’ efforts to further increase the level of integrity among vendors, so that they carry out their responsibilities with full trust and free from any form of corruption.

“Corruption not only involves money but also through other things such as receiving donations and abuse of power.

“This collaboration with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) is a more comprehensive approach in combating corruption from the grassroots level,” she said, when met at the IBR pledge by the vendors, here today.

At the event, LZS vendors’ representatives, led by Mohd Pouzi Cik Nik from Jakel Properties Sdn Bhd, read the pledge, before signing the IBR, witnessed by Selangor MACC director Datuk Alias Salim.

Ariffa said that to strengthen the commitment to be free of corruption, LZS has improved its governance, especially in the procurement process, including tenders, by continuously providing disclosure among vendors related to the MACC Act 2009, in addition to emphasising the board’s anti-corruption policy.

She said that there were 2,280 vendors registered with LZS, and set a target for all vendors to sign the IBR in stages.

“This target is in line with the requirements of MS ISO 37001:2016 Anti Bribery Management System, which was successfully obtained by LZS in November 2022,” she said. –Bernama
