Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) deploys 1,121 water assets, 789 land assets and 23 drones for northeast monsoon flood operations nationwide.
KOTA BHARU: The Malaysian Civil Defence Force has placed all its land and water assets on full alert ahead of the Northeast Monsoon season.
APM Deputy Chief Commissioner Datuk Ismail Mohd Zawawi confirmed 1,121 water assets, 789 land assets and 23 drones are ready for deployment.
He stated these resources will ensure officers and personnel can operate optimally throughout the monsoon period.
The agency has acquired 30 ambulances and 50 four wheel drive vehicles through new procurements to strengthen flood rescue capabilities.
Ismail explained some older assets are currently being upgraded as they are unsuitable for flood operations.
He revealed APM received 100 ambulances and 46 four wheel drive vehicles two years ago.
This year’s approval included 30 ambulances and 50 four wheel drives obtained through leasing arrangements.
Funding has been allocated under the 13th Malaysia Plan for additional ambulances and land assets next year.
He provided these details to reporters after the APM Media Engagement Session in Kota Bharu. – Bernama
