Thunderstorms and heavy rain forecast for six Malaysian states

MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kedah, Penang, Perak, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak until 4 pm today

KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast to affect several areas in six Malaysian states until 4 pm today.

The Malaysia Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning for Kedah, Penang, Perak, Pahang, Sabah and Sarawak.

In Kedah, the districts of Sik and Baling are expected to experience these adverse weather conditions.

The Barat Daya and Timur Laut districts in Penang are also likely to be affected.

Perak will see impacts across multiple districts including Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta and Kampar.

Cameron Highlands is the area forecast to be hit in Pahang.

For Sabah, the interior region of Beaufort is likely to experience the severe weather.

Sarawak will see impacts in Kuching, Serian, Samarahan, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei which includes Pakan, Sarikei and Meradong, and Mukah districts. – Bernama
