Kedah has fully recovered from floods with the closure of the final temporary relief centre in Pendang district, allowing all evacuees to return home.
ALOR SETAR: Kedah has fully recovered from floods following the closure of the last temporary relief centre in the Pendang district at 2 pm today.
The State Disaster Management Committee confirmed the Dewan Kompleks Rakan Sukan Tanah Merah relief centre ceased operations after all evacuees returned home.
This centre had been operating continuously since October 25 to shelter affected residents.
It housed 46 evacuees from 12 families as of this morning before closure.
Floods initially struck Pendang on October 25, impacting multiple subdistricts across the area.
Affected areas included Rambai, Padang Pusing, Padang Peliang, Padang Kerbau, Guar Kepayang and Tobiar. – Bernama
