Selangor JPJ’s final 2025 auction sold 200 seized vehicles for RM277,030, concluding a series that raised over RM590,000 this year.

SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Road Transport Department (JPJ) collected RM277,030 from its Third Series Vehicle Public Auction.

The amount exceeded the overall reserve value of RM133,580.

Selangor JPJ director Azrin Borhan said the auction involved 200 seized vehicles under the Road Transport Act 1987.

“The vehicles auctioned have gone through the proper forfeiture processes, including notification to the owners, forfeiture application and court order, before being allowed to be auctioned to the public,” he told a press conference.

The auction included 175 motorcycles, eight cars, seven panel vans, nine rigid lorries and one prime mover.

Azrin said this latest auction concluded the 2025 JPJ Public Auction Series.

Two earlier sessions this year sold 243 vehicles for a total of RM313,140.

Azrin urged owners of seized vehicles to come forward and file claims before the forfeiture process takes place.

He said the JPJ always provides ample time and opportunity for owners to reclaim their vehicles.

Once that period expires, auctioning becomes the final step required by law.

Commenting on the lorry accident in Bukit Cerakah, Meru, on Oct 21, Azrin said the Vehicle Safety Audit and Inspection (JISA) is still in progress.

The investigation aims to determine the cause of the accident.

The case against the driver is being investigated by the police. – Bernama
