Nurse pleads not guilty to injuring neighbour in condominium dispute

A 51-year-old nurse claims trial to causing serious injury to her neighbour, who suffered a fractured wrist during a dispute over noise.

KUALA LUMPUR: A nurse has pleaded not guilty to causing serious injury to her neighbour during a condominium altercation in May.

Chan Siew Peng, 51, faced the charge at the Sessions Court here for repeatedly pushing the victim’s grille door, resulting in a fractured right wrist for housewife Lim Siew Woi, 55.

The incident occurred at a Taman Bukit Indah condominium unit on May 15 at 3.30 pm following a dispute over noise.

Chan was charged under Section 325 of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum seven-year prison term and fine upon conviction.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Noor Syafina Mohd Radzuan proposed RM10,000 bail with one surety.

The unrepresented accused requested lower bail, explaining she is a single mother with a school-going 15-year-old son.

Judge Mazuliana Abdul Rashid granted RM5,000 bail with one surety and set December 10 for case mention and lawyer appointment. – Bernama
