Storm uproots trees in Kuantan after heavy rain and strong winds

Several trees uprooted in Kuantan due to stormy weather, with incidents reported in multiple areas but no injuries confirmed.

KUANTAN: Heavy rain and strong winds caused multiple tree falls across the city tonight.

Kuantan District Civil Defence Force officer Major (PA) Zahidi Zainudin said they began receiving incident reports from 7.46 pm.

Affected areas included Jalan Tanah Putih heading towards Gambang, Taman Cenderawasih, and Bukit Setongkol.

A tree also fell onto a house roof at Jalan Bukit Bay Route, according to reports.

“The APM has deployed personnel to the affected locations to conduct monitoring and clearing operations to ensure the routes are safe for use,” he said when contacted.

No injuries or loss of life have been reported from the incidents. – Bernama
