BUTTERWORTH: Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) confirmed a six-car Komuter train derailed at the end of Platform 4 at Butterworth Station early today.
The empty train was operating under its daily schedule when the incident occurred at 6.01 am with no passengers onboard.
No injuries or fatalities were reported in the derailment.
KTMB’s technical team arrived immediately after the incident to begin removing the train set.
Work is underway to ensure area safety and smooth station operations.
Passengers at Butterworth Station are advised to follow all safety instructions from station staff.
KTMB is conducting further investigations to identify the exact cause of the derailment.
