Sabah’s STAR party to contest 40 seats in state election

Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku announces 40 candidates for Sabah state election, with president Jeffrey Kitingan defending Tambunan seat.

KOTA KINABALU: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (STAR) will contest 40 of the 73 state seats in the upcoming Sabah state election.

President Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan confirmed the party’s extensive participation in the electoral contest.

He announced 29 candidates today, with the remaining 11 expected to be finalised soon.

Nomination for the state election is scheduled for Saturday, with polling set for November 29.

Notable candidates include Kitingan himself, who will defend his Tambunan seat.

Other prominent figures include Datuk Stephen Teo contesting Karambunai and Datuk Kenny Chua Teck Ho standing in Inanam.

The party has fielded candidates across various regions including Bengkoka, Bandau, and Tandek.

Additional contested seats include Usukan, Tamparuli, and Kiulu.

Urban constituencies such as Api-Api and Petagas also feature STAR candidates.

The list extends to Kapayan, Kawang, and Membakut in different parts of the state.

Southern seats like Sindumin and Karanaan are included in the party’s strategy.

Panginatan, Bingkor, and Liawan complete the extensive candidate roster.

Melalap, Kemabong, and Tulid represent interior constituencies.

Sook, Tungku, and Bugaya show the party’s geographical spread.

Eastern seats include Balung and Sri Tanjong.

This comprehensive candidate list demonstrates STAR’s ambition to significantly influence the election outcome.
