A Bangi car owner finds his vehicle dented again, with the driver leaving only RM100 and a note without contact details
HITTING a car and leaving an apology note alone is not enough. Taking responsibility for the damage matters too.
In a Threads post, Umaira shared that her fiancé’s car was damaged outside his home in Bangi. The house is a corner-lot unit, so the car was parked at the side of the house.
She noted that the neighbourhood is a gated residential area, suggesting that the person responsible likely lives in the same community.
According to Umaira, the car’s left rear side was badly dented and covered with white scratches.
“Last night the car was parked there just fine, but this morning it was found scratched up like this. Then the person who hit the car only left a note like this? Please, just come clean and admit who you are,” she wrote.
Umaira said the person had slipped RM100 inside an angpau packet and tucked it under the windscreen wiper, along with an incomplete note.
“The car owner will have to spend a lot to repair all this damage, and the RM100 you slipped into the note is definitely not enough. Please take note,” she said, stressing that leaving an apology note without any contact details only made the situation worse.
When a netizen suggested checking CCTV footage since the area is gated, Umaira said they had no luck.
“There’s no CCTV covering that area, and none that can see the spot where it happened. The owner has also asked in the WhatsApp group, but so far no one has seen anything or admitted to it,” she replied.
She also revealed that this was the second incident in just two weeks, as the car had only recently been repaired.
“The first time, an unknown person hit the rear door on the driver’s side. Back then, there wasn’t even a note and the person just hit the car and left.
“The owner had just fixed that damage a few days ago, and suddenly today it has become even worse,” she explained.
