The Pahang Palace has issued a stern warning against fraudulent social media accounts impersonating the Sultan and Tengku Ampuan, urging the public to rely only on official channels for royal information.
KUANTAN: The Pahang Palace has categorically denied viral claims on TikTok that the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, is providing public assistance.
In an official statement posted on the Pahang Sultanate’s Facebook page, the Palace confirmed it had identified a fake TikTok account named Tengku Tengku (@tengku.tengku93) which was soliciting phone numbers from users with promises of gifts.
“The Sultan of Pahang does not have any social media accounts, with many such accounts being created by irresponsible parties using the name and photographs of Al-Sultan Abdullah to deceive the public,” the Palace stated.
The warning extends to fraudulent accounts impersonating the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, which have also been detected on platforms like Facebook and TikTok.
The Palace strongly advised the public to ignore any links or information from these deceptive accounts and to report any suspicious content to the authorities immediately.
All official royal activities and announcements are disseminated exclusively through the Pahang Sultanate’s verified social media platforms, according to the statement.
The Palace currently operates one official Facebook account, which has approximately 773,000 followers, while other platforms like Instagram, TikTok and YouTube use only the name ‘Pahang Sultanate’.
The public was also directed to the official Pahang Palace portal at istanapahang.my for authentic information.
