Malaysia kekal rekod bersih Kelayakan Piala Asia 2027, atasi Nepal 1-0

Harimau Malaya kekal rekod tanpa kalah selepas tewaskan Nepal 1-0, mendahului Kumpulan F Kelayakan Piala Asia 2027 dengan 15 mata penuh.

KUALA LUMPUR: Skuad bola sepak negara mengekalkan rekod tanpa kalah dalam Kelayakan Piala Asia 2027 selepas menewaskan Nepal 1-0 di Stadium Nasional Bukit Jalil.

Kemenangan itu membolehkan Harimau Malaya mendahului Kumpulan F dengan 15 mata penuh selepas lima perlawanan.

Vietnam menduduki tempat kedua dengan sembilan mata, diikuti Laos (tiga mata) dan Nepal tanpa sebarang mata.

Malaysia memulakan perlawanan dengan agresif melalui beberapa percubaan awal yang memaksa pertahanan Nepal bekerja keras.

Dion Cools hampir menjaringkan gol pada minit ke-37 menerusi tandukan hasil hantaran Mohamad Faisal Abdul Halim.

Percubaan itu berjaya ditepis penjaga gol Nepal Kiran Kumar Limbu sebelum separuh masa pertama berakhir dengan kedudukan 0-0.

Gol tunggal perlawanan hadir pada minit ke-55 babak kedua hasil lorongan tepat Muhammad Safawi Rasid.

Mohamad Faisal berjaya menyudahkan hantaran itu untuk memberikan kelebihan kepada pasukan tuan rumah.

Nepal cuba melancarkan serangan balas tetapi gagal menembusi benteng pertahanan Malaysia yang teguh.

Harimau Malaya terus menguasai permainan dan berpeluang menggandakan kedudukan melalui sepakan penalti.

Paulo Jouse gagal menyempurnakan jaringan penalti pada minit ke-90 sebelum perlawanan tamat dengan keputusan 1-0.

Perlawanan ini menandakan aksi terakhir Harimau Malaya untuk tahun 2024.

Pasukan negara akan menutup tirai saingan peringkat kumpulan menentang Vietnam di Hanoi pada 31 Mac tahun depan. – Bernama
