Terengganu FC will announce a new head coach shortly, aiming to strengthen the squad for the upcoming 2026/2027 M-League season.
KUALA NERUS: Terengganu FC (TFC) will announce the appointment of a new head coach soon, in preparation for the 2026/2027 Malaysia League (M-League) competition which will open in August.
Terengganu Football Club Sdn Bhd (TFCSB) chief operating officer Mohd Syahrizan Mohd Zain said the selection was made after going through a thorough evaluation to ensure the philosophy and vision were in line with the club’s short and long-term plans.
He said it is hoped the new head coach would be a catalyst towards efforts to strengthen the team’s structure and form a more competitive squad to face the challenges of the coming season.
“The appointment is among the club’s agenda in charting a new direction for the team that is more structured and sustainable ahead of the new season.
“Apart from the technical aspects, TFC is also focusing on comprehensive team development including restructuring several operational departments, strengthening the game’s identity as well as developing existing players and potential talents to be promoted to higher levels,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd Syahrizan said the team’s official training session is scheduled to begin in mid-July in preparation for the pre-season.
He said the pre-season period will be fully utilised to build player fitness, strengthen the compatibility of the new coaching team to implement the desired playing style and approach.
“The 2026/2027 season will be the starting point for a new phase for Terengganu FC in efforts to rebuild the club’s strength with a more prudent, realistic and sustainable approach in ensuring the team’s stability and competitiveness for the long term.
“The club will continue to share the latest developments regarding the appointment of the coach, squad formation and pre-season planning from time to time,” he said.
