From June 29 to July 31, LRT3 services and its feeder bus services will be offered free of charge.
KLANG: Commuters will enjoy one month of free travel on the newly launched LRT3 line from tomorrow until July 31, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced at the official launch today.
The free travel initiative covers both the Shah Alam Line and its feeder bus services, with operations beginning at 6am tomorrow.

Speaking at the launch ceremony at the Johan Setia depot, Anwar said the government had taken into account public concerns over rising living costs and traffic congestion before deciding to offer the free rides.
He said the initiative followed a series of trials and technical preparations to ensure the line was ready for full operations.
“So starting tomorrow, we can proceed properly. The Transport Minister has been consistent in ensuring these facilities meet public expectations, and this announcement should bring relief to many.
“There have been discussions between the Transport Ministry and the Finance Ministry, including considerations on additional costs. In this case, the Transport Ministry prevailed,” he said.
Also present were Agriculture and Food Security Minister and Kota Raja MP Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Transport Minister Anthony Loke.
Loke described the opening of the LRT3 as a major milestone for the Transport Ministry, Prasarana and public transport users across the Klang Valley.
Although the project experienced several delays, he stressed that safety and quality standards had not been compromised.
“The most important thing is that safety and quality have been ensured,” he said.
Loke said the Shah Alam Line is expected to encourage greater public transport usage while supporting more sustainable urban development.
He added that the line is integrated with feeder buses, Rapid KL On-Demand vans and existing LRT services to improve first- and last-mile connectivity.
“This integration is crucial in completing the first- and last-mile connectivity, allowing users a more seamless and efficient journey,” he said.
The LRT3, also known as the Shah Alam Line, stretches 37.8km from Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya to Johan Setia in Klang, serving 20 stations across densely populated areas including Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Shah Alam and Klang.
The line will operate 22 three-car trains, each capable of carrying up to 624 passengers. Trains will arrive every 7.5 minutes during peak hours and every 10 minutes during off-peak periods.
Loke said the line is expected to serve an average of 60,000 passengers daily in its first year of operation.
Originally launched in 2016, the project was scheduled for completion in August 2020 but encountered several delays due to construction setbacks.
