Indonesia-based music group Kos Atos has released its latest work, a single titled Yang Namanya, which officially launched on June 30, 2026, across all digital platforms.

Coinciding with the release, a lyric video for the song has also premiered on the Kos Atos Official YouTube channel.

Following the release of the single Lagu Untukmu a few months ago and the introduction of the song Arutala on the Keroncong Plesiran 1 Dekade compilation album, Kos Atos has maintained a steady creative output throughout 2026.

The single Yang Namanya marks a step toward the new album it is currently preparing.

Interestingly, Yang Namanya was written by Vigil Kristologus (Kos Atos’s drummer) back in 2016.

Although the song was originally part of the material for Kos Atos’s debut album and had been performed live on several occasions, it was only officially recorded a decade later.

“This song was written when Kos Atos was preparing to release its debut album in 2016. We even performed it frequently back then and it was originally slated for inclusion on that album. Thankfully, a decade later, the song is finally ready to find its place with Kos Atos listeners,” said Kristologus.

Musically, Yang Namanya brings back the “orkes” (orchestral/comedy-folk ensemble) sound that has long defined Kos Atos’s identity.

Fans of the song Kopi – performed with Iksan Skuter – will find the atmosphere of this new single familiar.

Kos Atos once again explores the “orkes” musical character, featuring a style reminiscent of groups such as OM PMR and Tani Maju, as well as the “orkes” explorations showcased on its sixth album.

Lyrically, Yang Namanya explores themes of friendship and camaraderie using a lighthearted, witty approach that mirrors everyday language.

Kos Atos seeks to convey simple yet meaningful values through a casual storytelling style, making the song relatable and accessible to a wide range of listeners.

Beneath its humorous tone, the track carries a heartwarming message about the nature of human relationships.

For the production, Kos Atos enlisted Glorianstya on keyboards.

The song was recorded at Creatorix Studio in Malang, with mixing and mastering handled by Eka Catra.

The single Yang Namanya has been available on various digital streaming platforms – including Spotify, Apple Music, Joox, Deezer and YouTube Music – since June 30, 2026.

With the release of Yang Namanya, Kos Atos reaffirms its creative consistency while reviving the “orkes” (orchestral-folk) style that has become its signature sound.

This single marks the start of a new journey toward an upcoming album, aiming to accompany listeners with music that is warm, lighthearted, and deeply meaningful.
