PETALING JAYA: Following the strong response to the ULTRA Tourist 24 Hour Trial, U Mobile, Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, has launched the ULTRA Tourist Plan.
This is a dedicated seven-day prepaid mobile plan designed specifically for international visitors travelling in Malaysia. It offers 100GB of unlimited speed data along with a complimentary Grab Visit Malaysia 2026 travel pass with savings up to RM186.
Available at RM15, the data plan can be used for hotspot usage to provide tourist with seamless digital connectivity and best travel experience throughout their stay in Malaysia.
The launch of the ULTRA Tourist Plan marks the next step in U Mobile’s efforts to support Malaysia’s growing tourism industry.
To mark the launch and enhance the visitor experience in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, U Mobile has collaborated with Grab Malaysia to launch the first tourist mobile plan with Grab Visit Malaysia 2026 Travel Pass.
Apart from enjoying U Mobile’s award-winning ULTRA 5G experience, international tourists will be able to take advantage of 22 vouchers offering exclusive discounts across transport, dining and shopping.
The initiative follows the encouraging uptake and positive feedback from the ULTRA Tourist 24 Hour Trial that was launched in February. U Mobile identified a clear demand among international visitors for accessible, high-quality mobile connectivity that enables them to navigate, communicate, share experiences and access digital services with ease while exploring Malaysia.
U Mobile is uniquely positioned to support international visitors with its next-generation 5G network, offering extensive indoor and outdoor coverage across Malaysia’s major airports, transportation hubs, tourism hotspots and urban centre.
U Mobile chief consumer business officer Navin Manian highlighted the rationale behind the company’s partnership with Grab.
“In conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026, we wanted to make the experience even more rewarding for international visitors through our collaboration with Grab Malaysia. By combining U Mobile’s seamless ULTRA5G connectivity with Grab’s transportation, dining and lifestyle services, we are providing tourists with a more convenient, connected and rewarding way to discover the best of Malaysia.”
Grab Malaysia commercial and deliveries director Tan Jiong Jian said, “Visit Malaysia 2026 is an opportunity to showcase the very best of Malaysia to the world, and we wanted to contribute our strengths towards this shared goal. Together with the convenience of our platform and the everyday knowledge of our driver-partners, we hope to help people experience Malaysia’s food and culture in a way that feels more accessible and authentic.
“Whether it’s discovering a memorable meal, exploring a cultural landmark or planning a journey across the country, through the Visit Malaysia 2026 travel pass, Grab can help make that experience more seamless while celebrating the people and businesses that make Malaysia unique.”
The ULTRA Tourist Plan is available to all non-Malaysian passport holders and can be purchased in the form of physical SIM or eSIM.
The physical SIM is available nationwide across 32 U Mobile stores, selected authorised dealers and 7-Eleven outlets in all International Airports across Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the eSIM version can be purchased directly through the U Mobile website at u.com.my/tourist or MyUMobile App, allowing tourists to get connected even before they begin their journey.
Tourists can easily activate the mobile service and purchase any additional data pass via the MyUMobile app.
