BN deputy chairman Mohamad Hasan praises Sabah’s calm election atmosphere and organised party machinery ahead of the state polls.
KOTA BELUD: Barisan Nasional deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan has described the campaign for the 17th Sabah State Election as healthy and calm.
He said this reflects the political maturity of Sabah voters, with no significant tension observed compared to previous elections.
Mohamad, who is also UMNO deputy president, expressed his pleasure at the campaign’s calm nature.
He stated that Sabahans appear politically mature, capable of accepting and expressing views without the tension seen in other places.
“Everyone is campaigning healthily, presenting their respective manifestos and explaining to voters what they can do if given the opportunity,” he told Bernama while campaigning in the Tempasuk constituency.
When asked about BN’s election machinery, Mohamad said it was well organised and energetic.
He noted that groundwork had been done well ahead of nomination day, with machinery supported by ‘adoptive states’ from the Peninsula assisting local teams.
“The machinery has been managing the election in a more structured and orderly manner,” he said.
He urged them to continue this good work until the final day of campaigning.
Mohamad also expressed hope that young voters’ support would favour BN candidates.
This is particularly important in areas where young voters form the majority.
Polling is on November 29, while early voting takes place tomorrow.
