Sabah PKR warns against slander politics ahead of state election

Sabah PKR urges voters to reject slander and political manipulation, pledging commitment to clean governance and supporting MACC’s independent investigations.

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah PKR has urged the public not to be influenced by slanderous politics as the state election approaches this Saturday.

The party’s chairman Datuk Mustapha Sakmud said the state’s future should be determined by facts and policies that benefit the people.

“Sabah KEADILAN remains committed to continuing the reform agenda, amplifying the voice of the people and ensuring that Sabah enjoys clean, stable and accountable governance,” he stated on Facebook.

Mustapha said Sabah PKR fully supports Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s acceptance of his senior political secretary’s resignation.

He also backed the Prime Minister’s firm stance that MACC must be allowed to conduct investigations independently without interference.

Mustapha described the resignation as a responsible move aligned with the MADANI government’s principles of integrity and transparency.

“It proves that no one in the government is immune from the legal process, and all allegations must be investigated fairly and professionally,” he said.

He emphasised that MACC must be given full space to complete investigations without political pressure, calling this the foundation of institutional reform.
