JKMR submits 2024 annual report to PM Anwar

The Special Committee on Corruption has submitted its 2024 annual report to the prime minister, including recommendations to strengthen the MACC’s effectiveness.

PUTRAJAYA: The Special Committee on Corruption (JKMR) has submitted its 2024 Annual Report to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The submission fulfills the committee’s mandate under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 to advise the prime minister on corruption issues.

The report included JKMR’s review of the MACC’s own annual report, covering enforcement, prevention, and management.

It also contained inspection findings from the Anti-Corruption Advisory Board’s 2024 review.

“JKMR also submitted recommendations to the Prime Minister on efforts to strengthen the overall effectiveness of the MACC, in a comprehensive and holistic manner,” the committee said in a statement.

This includes a proposal to establish an Anti-Corruption Services Commission.

“JKMR hopes that each recommendation presented in this report will be given due consideration, and be translated into impactful and comprehensive actions for the benefit of the nation,” the statement added.

The committee, whose members are elected representatives, also invited public views to help strengthen the MACC.

The public can share suggestions by emailing jkmr@sprm.gov.my.
