AGC reclassifies PALAPES cadet’s death as murder for further probe

The Attorney General’s Chambers orders the death of cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin to be investigated as murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code

KUALA LUMPUR: The Attorney General’s Chambers has directed the death of PALAPES cadet Syamsul Haris Shamsudin to be reclassified as murder.

The AGC ordered the case be investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for further action by the Royal Malaysia Police.

It said the decision followed a briefing and review of the police investigation report into the 22-year-old’s death.

Syamsul Haris died on July 28 at Kota Tinggi Hospital in Johor.

His death occurred after he underwent training at the Army Combat Training Centre in Ulu Tiram.

He was buried the following day at the Kampung Rinching Ulu Muslim Cemetery in Semenyih, Selangor. – Bernama
