Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution and two other ministers take oath as senators for second term, enabling them to continue Cabinet duties
KUALA LUMPUR: Three senior ministers were sworn in for a second term as senators today.
Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar took their oaths before Dewan Negara president Datuk Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah.
Their reappointment allows them to continue serving in the Cabinet.
Awang Bemee said the reappointment reflects confidence in their expertise and commitment to national policy.
“This appointment, by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, is in accordance with the provisions of Article 45(1)(b) of the Federal Constitution,” he stated.
The appointments are effective from today until December 2, 2028.
All three ministers were first sworn in as senators in December 2022. – Bernama
