Police detain two teenagers for dangerous ‘basikal lajak’ riding and beating a red light in Subang Jaya after a video went viral on TikTok
SUBANG JAYA: Police have detained two teenagers after a video of them riding modified ‘basikal lajak’ bicycles dangerously went viral on social media.
Subang Jaya Police chief ACP Wan Azlan Wan Mamat said the boys were arrested in Bukit Lanchong, Shah Alam.
He said police received a report yesterday regarding the viral TikTok video depicting the teenagers’ actions.
“Initial investigations found that the incident occurred on Dec 4 at 5.55 pm when both teenagers were coming from Persiaran Putra Perdana heading towards Kampung Tengah,” he said in a statement.
“They were seen riding the bicycles dangerously, beating the red light and nearly crashing into a car that was moving straight on a green light.”
The case is being investigated under Section 54(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
