Melaka resolves 73% of complaints from public engagement programmes

Melaka’s WRUR programmes resolved 73% of 1,993 complaints this year, with a new session launched in Bukit Katil to address local issues

MELAKA: The state government has resolved 73% of the 1,993 complaints received during 10 Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) public engagement programmes held this year.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh stated that the true measure of success is the relief and smiles of the people when their issues are addressed.

He urged residents of the Bukit Katil state constituency to submit complaints and suggestions directly to the officials present during the latest programme.

“I hope that during the two-week WRUR programme in Bukit Katil constituency, every issue raised will not only be recorded but also carefully considered, followed up on, and resolved according to priority,” he said.

Ab Rauf was speaking at the state-level National Integrity and Anti-Corruption Day celebration, which also launched the Bukit Katil WRUR programme.

The event was attended by Deputy Defence Minister and Bukit Katil assemblyman Adly Zahari, and MACC Deputy Chief Commissioner (Operations) Datuk Seri Ahmad Khusairi Yahaya.

Adly Zahari reported that 258 complaints and requests from Bukit Katil constituents have already been recorded for review.

These issues will be acted upon by relevant government agencies under the supervision of state executive councillors. – Bernama
