UniMAP offers incentives and fee exemptions for national athletes

UniMAP introduces victory incentives and college fee exemptions for its athletes representing Malaysia and MASUM in competitive championships

UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA PERLIS (UNIMAP) has introduced victory incentives and college fee exemptions for its athletes who represent the country and the Malaysian University Sports Council (MASUM).

UniMAP deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni) Prof Dr Mohd Mustafa Al Bakri Abdullah said the incentives are part of the university’s commitment to producing high-performing athletes.

Athletes representing the Malaysian team will receive incentives based on medals won.

They will also receive college fee exemptions for representing Malaysia and MASUM in competitive championships.

“This reflects UniMAP’s support and commitment, with the hope that more athletes from public institutions of higher learning, particularly from UniMAP, will represent the country in future,” he said.

He added that UniMAP previously introduced the UniMAP Positive Culture Sports Scholarship as encouragement for athletes.

UniMAP student Nur Laili Idani Rosli and staff member Nor Rinda Ramli have been selected to represent Malaysia in woodball at the SEA Games Thailand 2025.

UniMAP High Performance Sports Programme secretariat chief Nazmizan Muhammad has also been selected as deputy chef de mission for Malaysia at this year’s SEA Games. – Bernama
