Negeri Sembilan JPJ seizes 106 luxury cars worth RM21 million in 2024

Negeri Sembilan JPJ confiscated 106 luxury vehicles valued at RM21 million for offences like expired road tax and invalid licences in Op Luxury

SEREMBAN: The Negeri Sembilan Road Transport Department has seized 106 luxury vehicles worth approximately RM21 million in operations conducted across the state this year.

State JPJ director Hanif Yusabra Yusuf said the confiscations were due to owners’ failure to comply with the Road Transport Act 1987.

Offences included expired road tax, invalid insurance coverage, and driving without a valid licence.

The seized luxury cars comprised models from Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, BMW, Audi, and Toyota.

“The enforcement action involved vehicle owners aged 35 to 55, including a businessman with the title Datuk,” said Hanif Yusabra.

He stated this luxury vehicle seizure is among the largest ever conducted by the Negeri Sembilan JPJ.

The figure marks an 80% increase compared to the 20 vehicles seized in the previous year.

Enforcement officers also issued 318 notices for various traffic offences during the operations.

These included citations for no road tax, vehicle licensing breaches, and other violations under Act 333.

Hanif Yusabra said the operation is part of a nationwide crackdown.

It will continue to target illegally owned or unregistered luxury vehicles and cases of road tax evasion.

He urged the public to assist authorities by reporting traffic violations.

Reports can be made via the MyJPJ app’s e-Aduan function or by email to aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my. – Bernama
