PETALING JAYA: Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) said it has provided temporary electricity supply to units at Flat Seri Perantau following a fire that damaged the building’s electrical distribution room earlier this month, while full repairs remain under the responsibility of the building management.
In a statement posted on its CareLine Facebook page (Dec 25), TNB said it sympathised with residents affected by the prolonged power outage, which stemmed from a fire that broke out in the flat’s electrical distribution board (DB) room on Dec 7.
“TNB’s technical team has provided temporary supply to some units since Dec 17 while comprehensive repair works are carried out by the building management,” the utility said, adding that it is ready to restore full electricity supply once repairs are completed and certified safe for reconnection.
Residents of Block C have been without electricity for more than two weeks following the fire, which severely damaged internal wiring and disrupted essential services, including lifts and water pumps.
The outage has affected 128 units, prompting repeated appeals from residents for urgent intervention.
Bernama previously reported that the Selangor state government is expected to hold a meeting on Dec 29 to decide on repair works for the damaged wiring, with the cost estimated at RM1.7 million.
State authorities have said the repairs involve internal electrical infrastructure under the purview of the building management, rather than the national utility provider.
