PSM targets continued success for the national sepak takraw team in 2026, focusing on grassroots development and professionalism after a stellar 2025.
THE Sepaktakraw Association of Malaysia (PSM) is determined to sustain the national team’s impressive momentum from 2025 into the new year.

Innovation in sports science and tactical analysis will also be a key focus.
“We want to ensure that today’s success produces champions of the future,” Mohd Sumali said.
He noted that defending a title is far more challenging than winning it.
Mohd Sumali acknowledged that even tougher challenges await the national squad in 2026.
He urged all parties to redouble their efforts to maintain the achieved level of excellence.
“With a strong sense of national spirit, I am confident that Malaysia can continue to compete with regional powerhouses,” he said.
He aims to strengthen sepak takraw’s standing on the world stage and elevate the heritage sport.
“Let us continue to stand united as one family — for sport and for the nation,” he added.
The national sepak takraw squad enjoyed a highly successful campaign in 2025.
The team won the regu title at the Asian Cup last year.
It also ended a 34-year gold medal drought in the team regu event at the Thailand SEA Games. – Bernama
