IPOH: A traditional medicine seller is mulling legal action against the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital here after alleging his mother died due to negligence by nurses.
Wong Kok Yew, 48, from Taman Melor here, claimed the nurses failed to exercise caution when removing ECG wires and equipment from his mother.
His mother, Agnes Liu Soo Thye, 78, was admitted to the hospital on March 15 for lung infection.
He claimed several nurses came to the ward and removed the wires and equipment "roughly" to be administered to another patient in the next bed who suffered breathing difficulties.
"Due to the sudden nature of removing the equipment and wires, my mother was shocked and began to tremble," he told reporters today.
    She died 10 minutes later.
The cause of death stated in the death certificate was due to "Septic Shock Secondary to Pneumonia".
