Ringgit eases against US dollar at close

    KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar today on weak buying sentiment despite the stronger regional currencies, a dealer said.
    The dealer said the ringgit retreated 0.34% to 3.2720 to the greenback after three days of gains.
    The local market was closed yesterday due to the Deepavali Holiday.
    At the close, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2730/2760 against the greenback compared with 3.2615/2635 on Tuesday.
    The local unit was also mostly higher against other major currencies.
    It was lower against the Singapore dollar at 2.5695/5739 from Tuesday's 2.5687/5717 but was firmer against the yen to 3.0435/0466 from 3.0604/0626 previously.
    The ringgit strengthened against the British pound at 5.2391/2445 from 5.2706/2751 on Tuesday and appreciated against the euro to 4.1436/2481 from 4.1832/2867. – Bernama
