theSun steps forward to help flood victims

PETALING JAYA: Loading three of its vans with food and goods valued at RM120,000 from theSun Cares Fund, the 18-member theSun team headed by managing editor Freddie Ng left for flood evacuation centres in Perak and Pahang on Saturday.
Accompanying the vans were three four-wheeler vehicles driven by Ng, theSun's Human Resource Manager Muhammad Radzi Ahmat Suhaimi and Distribution Channel Senior Manager Gurunatham Gopal. With them were theSun volunteers including reporters and photographers.
The move to provide assistance to flood victims at some of the centres in both the States was part of theSun's Corporate Social Responsibility effort.
Although the flood situation has improved, theSun team was there physically to help some of the victims with their post-flood woes.
Many of them were traumatised that they had lost almost everything in the floods.
While giving a sympathetic ear to the victims, theSun also gave away essential items like blankets, clothings, diapers, sanitary pads, and food items such as milk powder, instant noodle packs, drinking water among many other items.
theSun, is committed to helping those affected by floods and, this is just the start to assisting more if the situation warrants.
