MAS website compromised by Isis

PETALING JAYA: The website of Malaysia Airlines (MAS) was breached yesterday by hackers allegedly linked to Islamic State (IS) militants.
It was later learnt that data of visitors to www.malaysiaairlines.com had been compromised, including some personal details of a "Datuk Seri".
The website was altered to read "ISIS will prevail", with the message "Plane not found", seemingly in reference to flight MH370.
The message was signed "Cyber Caliphate", with a rap song playing in the background.
A subsequent check revealed the homepage had been hacked again, this time featuring an image of a lizard clad in a tuxedo and smoking a pipe. A group from Finland called "Lizard Squad" was said to be behind the second hack.
"404 – Plane Not found. Hacked by Lizard Squad. Follow cybercaliphate on twitter @lizardmafia @umgrobert @umg_chris," were the messages left on the airline's homepage.
MAS later issued a statement stating that visitors to www.malaysiaairlines.com were being re-directed to a hacker website.
"We assure our customers and clients that our website was not hacked and this temporary glitch does not affect their bookings and that user data remains secured.
"At this stage, MAS' web servers are intact. The airline has resolved the issue with its service provider and the system is expected to be fully recovered within 22 hours," the statement said.
Lizard Mafia responded to the statement by tweeting: "We would like to point out that @MAS is lying about user data not being compromised. Refer to earlier imgur link."
The post was accompanied by screenshots of MAS' email system, with customers' full name, email address and contact number, including some details of the VIP.
Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein told theSun that he would not be able to comment on the alleged hacking, as the matter comes under the purview of the Home Ministry.
The matter has been reported to CyberSecurity Malaysia and the Transport Ministry.
Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said police will investigate the matter under the Computer Crimes Act 1997 to ascertain the motive and the culprits behind the hacking.
