Rompin by-election early voting ongoing until 5pm

ROMPIN: Early voting for the Rompin parliamentary by-election involving 545 registered voters is being held at four polling centres from 8am to 5pm today.
The voting will be carried out at the Dewan Seri Ibam, Skuadron 322 TUDM, Bukit Ibam and Rompin police headquarters rest lounge.
The Tekek police headquarters in Tioman Island will be open from 8am to 2pm for voting.
The Election Commission (EC) is managing the process for early votes based normal voting method.
Indelible ink will be used for all votes cast.
All ballot papers from today will be kept in police lock-ups and will only be counted at 4pm on May 5, which is the date for normal voting.
The Rompin Parliamentary seat fell vacant following the death of incumbent Tan Sri Dr Jamaluddin Jarjis, who died in a helicopter crash on April 4.
The by-election will see a straight fight between Barisan Nasional candidate Datuk Hasan Arifin, 62, and PAS youth chief, Nazri Ahmad, 40.
