Bank Negara awards 4 students with Kijang Emas Scholarship this year

    KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia today awarded four students, high-potential talents who are pursuing various field of studies in top universities around the world, with the Kijang Emas Scholarship Award 2015.
    They are Ahmad Imran Idzqandar, a 10A+ SPM achiever, from Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Tun Ghaffar Baba, Malacca; Hajar Nur Asyiqin Abdul Zubir (9A+ SPM) from SMK Abdul Rahman Talib, Pahang; Tan Ying Xin (10A+ SPM) from SMJK Sacred Heart, Penang; and Nur Shazlin Shek Daud (9A+ SPM) from MRSM Taiping, Perak.
    Presenting the award to recipients, BNM governor Tan Sri Dr Zeti Akhtar Aziz said talent development had become more important than before due to the rapidly changing, more complex and competitive environment.
    "Malaysia has, however, over several decades demonstrated time and again our ability to face the challenges arising from these transformative changes, supported by our resilience and strong foundations," she said.
    To date, 44 scholars have been awarded the Kijang Emas Scholarship, out of whom 11 have completed their undergraduate studies and have returned to serve the country.
    The aim of this initiative is to recognise outstanding achievements of the nation's best and brightest, and to enhance human capital development for the country. – Bernama
