KUALA LUMPUR: "Amira don't have papa and mama any more ... Amira want grandpa (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) to book those responsible for my father and mother's death ... I don't have anyone else in this world."
Those were the words of Nur Firuza Amira, 7, who lost her father Fairuz Nizam Husain, 35, mother Nova Safitri Azhari, 25, and her youngest sister Nur Firuza Annisa, seven months, in a three-vehicle pile-up at Km6.2 of the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (DUKE) on Saturday.
She uttered the words to Home Minister Ahmad Zahid when he visited the victims' family in Taman Batu Muda, Batu Caves here today.
"Amira want those who caused the accident to be jailed and punished," said the young girl who has another younger sister, Nur Firuza Akila, three years, when met by Bernama.
According to Amira, a student at Sekolah Rendah Taman Koperasi Polis Fasa 2, they were now being cared by their grandmother, Normah Toso, 65.
Meanwhile, Normah said Amira was still emotionally disturbed although two days had passed since the accident occurred.
"Each time she watches the news on television about the accident involving her parents and younger sister, she would scream, calling out for her father. Although Amira is only seven, the way she thinks is like that of a nine-year-old," Normah said.
She added that for the moment, both Amira and Akila were staying with her, and she looked after their daily needs with the help of her third son, Hamlizar Husain, 43.
In the 1.05am incident involving a Mitsubishi Pajero driven by Fairuz Nizam and two Perodua Myvi cars, several witnesses had reported that before it happened, a group of Myvi drivers were racing along the highway. — Bernama
