SUNGAI BESAR: The PAS government has never been involved in corruption scandals or wrongdoings even after decades of administering Kelantan, and Terengganu for a single term, said its president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
"We have proven this in Kelantan and Terengganu. None of our leaders were involved in corruption, land and bungalow (scandals). None. This is our success in forming a clean government," he said at a ceramah here last night.
Also present at the event were Selangor PAS comissioner Datuk Iskandar Abdul Samad and state exco member Zaidi Abdul Talib.
Abdul Hadi also dealt a verbal blow to its former allies in the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat, stating that the downfall of the Perak government post 2008 General Election were due to PKR and DAP assemblymen who had been fed with "dedak" (chicken feed).
"Alhamdulillah, none of our representatives were taken by 'dedak'.
"The fall of the Perak government under Pakatan Rakyat was not due to PAS assemblymen, but due to our allies that had been eating 'dedak'," he said.
Abdul Hadi reiterated that the party will not be under the influence of the Barisan Nasional-led federal government, stating that it would only support policies that are beneficial to the masses.
"We will support what is right and oppose what is wrong. This has been our stand since the formation of our party before independence," he said.
