BPA to meet JPV on stray dogs problem

SHAH ALAM: The Public Complaints Bureau (BPA) will hold a discussion with the authorities and non governmental organisations to find ways to tackle the problem of stray dogs in Selangor.
Its director-general Datuk Harjeet Singh said the BPS would have a meeting with the Department of Veterinary Services and animal welfare NGOs soon to find the best way to overcome the problem.
According to him, this was because the complaints of stray dogs in residential areas were among the highest received after complaints on street lights, potholes, fallen trees and drains.
Public complaints on stray dogs increased from 8,840 complaints in 2014 to 9,508 last year. For the first four months of this year 2,405 complaints were received.
He said the approach currently practiced to search and catch the animals was no longer suitable or able to curb the increasing number of stray dogs. — Bernama
