Old man gets only 5 years jail for sex crimes on four young girls

JOHOR BARU: A 68-year-old man was sentenced to five years jail by the Sessions Court here today for outraging the modesty of four young girls.
Omar Yahaya, 68, pleaded guilty to four counts of using criminal force to outraging the modesty of the four girls, aged between eight to 11 at his house along Jalan Denai, Kempas Baru here, about 8pm on May 15, 2016.
He is charged under Section 354 of the Penal Code for assault or use of criminal force to a person with intent to outrage modesty which carries a punishment of up to 10 years imprisonment, or with whipping.
He also pleaded guilty to two charges under Section 377E of the Penal Code for inciting a child to perform an act of gross indecency at the same time and place.
The accused paid the children RM2.50 after each sexual act.
Sessions Court judge Kamarudin Kasmun ordered each sentence to run concurrently from the date the accused was arrested on May 18, this year.
Deputy public prosecutor, Muhamad Taufik Saberi prosecuted, while the accused was unrepresented.
