KUALA LUMPUR: Son of the late deputy prime minister, Tun Abdul Ghafar Baba, Tamrin (pix), today confirmed that he will not join the new political party that was being formed by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.
Tamrin said in a statement today that he had also withdrawn from the People's Declaration Secretariat that was led by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said both decisions were made after thinking about them thoroughly.
"The decisions are final and take effect today," said Tamrin.
For the moment, he said, he had not joined any political party after leaving PAS in 2014.
Muhyiddin had submitted the application to form a new party called Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia on Aug 9 at the Registrar of Societies (ROS) in Putrajaya. — Bernama
