Two buried in 6m of mud in freak accident (Updated)

KUALA LUMPUR: A Bangladeshi national met an untimely death after he was buried in a mudslide at the construction site of a condominium in Jalan Segambut Dalam, Taman Segambut here today afternoon.
Operations Division officer for the Fire and Rescue Department Kuala Lumpur, Samsol Maarif Saibani said initial investigations revealed that along with the deceased, another local man was also trapped in the mud.
"The local man, who is 28 years old was rescued but the Bangladeshi man, Nazmul Hossain, couldn't be rescued and was confirmed dead," he said, adding that both men were trapped under six metres of mud.
He said the cause of the mudslide was yet to be determined but did not rule out the possibility of the heavy thunderstorm that hit KL today morning.
It is understood that both the victims were workers on the site and the incident has been reported to the police for further investigations.
The local victim, a 28-year-old man, was brought to Kuala Lumpur Hospital for treatment.
