No M'sians affected in Christchurch quake

PUTRAJAYA: No Malaysians have been affected in the 7.5 Richter scale earthquake disaster that struck Christchurch at 12.02am local time (Sunday 7.02 pm Malaysia time).
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry (Wisma Putra) said the Malaysian High Commission in Wellington was monitoring closely the situation in the affected areas.
"As of now, no Malaysians are reported to be affected by the earthquake.
"Malaysians in the affected areas and those who require consular assistance are advised to contact the High Commission of Malaysia in Wellington," it said.
